CHANGE OF DESIGNATION
GIT to P.Geo.
If you are currently a Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) who has reached 48 months of geoscience work experience, please submit a Change of Designation application to become a full practising professional geoscientist (P.Geo.).
Important:
• As per By-Law No. 5, no person may remain in the record as a geoscientist-in-training for more than six (6) years. If you require an extension, please contact applications@pgo.ca.
• Work experience examples used in the Competency-Based Assessment must be within the last 10 years of your Change of Designation application.
P.Geo. to Non-Practising
If you are currently a Practising professional geoscientist (P.Geo.) with PGO but wish to become non-practising, please submit a Change of Designation application to become a non-practising registrant.
Important:
• This is for those registrants who are no longer practising in Ontario but wish to maintain their registration in the event that they might return to practise.
• To change your designation back to practising, please contact applications@pgo.ca.
