How do I apply?

If you no longer wish to practise geoscience in Ontario, the best way to maintain good standing is to, either, resign your membership, or apply for a change of designation to non-practising member.

A non-practising member is one who is no longer practising geoscience in Ontario, but wishes to maintain membership. Reasons for not practising geoscience in Ontario can include: a new employment opportunity where geoscience practise is not being undertaken; unemployment for multiple years; move to another jurisdiction, but wishing to maintain an Ontario designation; retirement from the industry, but wishing to maintain the designation. An applicant for registration as a non-practising member of PGO must have been a practising member previous to applying for a change of designation to non-practising. Once a non-practising designation has been approved, the registrant is not licensed to practise in Ontario, or use their stamp or seal in any way.
