Joel Gill, Ph.D., Founder and Executive Director, Geology for Global Development (GfGD) and International Development Geoscientist, British Geological Survey (UK) 

Dr. Joel C. Gill is Founder and Executive Director of the UK charity Geology for Global Development and International Development Geoscientist at the British Geological Survey. For the last decade, Joel has worked at the interface of Earth science and international development, focusing on themes including sustainability, disaster risk reduction, equitable partnerships, and education for sustainable development. Joel plays a leading role internationally in championing how geoscientists can help deliver the UN Sustainable Development Goals and is the lead Editor of an upcoming book on this theme. He was elected to the Geological Society of London Council in 2019 and to the position of Secretary, Foreign and External Affairs in 2020.
