ABOUT THE SPEAKER


Giuseppe di Capua, National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, Rome– Treasurer and Co-Founder of International Association for Promoting Geoethics (IAPG) (Italy)

Giuseppe Di Capua is geologist at the Italian Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology in Rome. His scientific activity covers the fields of engineering geology and geoethics. Giuseppe develops research on theoretical and practical aspects of geoethics. Founding member and treasurer of the International Association for Promoting Geoethics. Member of the Executive Committee of the CIPSH - International Union of Philosophy and Human Sciences. Team/Task Leader and Member of the International Advisory Boards of European Projects (such as GOAL - Geoethics Outcomes and Awareness Learning, ENVRIplus, EPOS SP, INTERMIN - International Network of Raw Materials Training Centres and SMART Exploration), webmaster and member of the Publications Committee of the IUGS - International Union of Geological Sciences, and Member of the Editorial Board of the journals Episodes and Geoconservation Research. He is editor and author of books and articles on geoethics, and co-author of the Cape Town Statement on Geoethics and the White Paper on Responsible Mining.
