ABOUT THE SPEAKER


Dr. Gargi Mishra, Hatch Ltd.

Gargi was named as one of the Top 100 global inspirational women in mining for 2018.  She is the recipient of “FEMINA WOMEN SUPER ACHIEVER AWARD 2017” issued by 4th WORLD WOMEN LEADERSHIP CONGRESS (WWLC). This award celebrates the role played by women as leaders, executioners, and decision-makers in various fields. She was listed as the top 10 women in mining in South Africa in 2019.

Gargi brings extensive experience in designing and implementing the digital road maps for various mining companies, advising the clients on digital readiness of operations based on people, and processes.

She has worked in the mining and exploration sector for about seventeen years. Gargi started her career with DeBeers as a field geologist.  She has successfully managed, mentor and trained cross-cultural teams across the globe. She has worked in some of the most remote exploration camps under extreme climatic conditions.

She holds a Ph.D. in Geometallurgy from the University of Johannesburg. Her research involved geometallurgical characterization of Ni Ore at Nkomati Mine and the influence of mineralogy on ore recovery. The findings of this study are published in Mineral Engineering, a well-reckoned International Scientific Journal and were also presented at several National-International conferences.

She provides thought leadership for the Digital Mine of the future, the workforce of tomorrow, and connected worker. She gets invited at various national and international conferences to share her industry insight and thought leadership as speaker and panellist.
