Internal Review or Appeal Process

PGO rarely denies a mobility application for a professional geoscientist registered in another Canadian jurisdiction, however, if such a case were to arise, applicants can submit a request for an appeal of the decision.

Any applicant wishing to appeal a registration decision needs to provide a letter, giving notice of the appeal to the CEO of PGO within 30 days of the decision. The notice of appeal shall:

1. Identify the decision being appealed;
2. Set out the basis for the appeal; and
3. Set out the order that the applicant wishes to be made.

The applicant must pay the fee for the appeal within 5 business days of delivering notice of appeal documents.

See PGO's document on the appeal process for more information.
