Message from the Chair, Conference Planning Committee

On behalf of the PGO Conference Planning Committee and staff, I am pleased to present the PGO 2020 Virtual Symposium, engaging participants from Ontario, Canada and around the world with four sessions delivered online on June 30, July 7, July 14 and July 21.

Over the past few months, the planning committee has identified key emerging knowledge, information and tools that geoscience practitioners need to be aware of, delivered in an approachable format that will be of interest to all scientific disciplines, regulators, interest groups, insurers, legal practitioners and proponents of geoscience-related projects and the general public.

    • In the first session, you will be given insight to the changing regulatory landscape affecting our natural resources and environment, and where disciplinary actions have been necessary to enforce the regulatory bottom line.
    • In the second session, learn to identify ethical dilemmas and navigate through the post-COVID world of sustainable decision-making and to exercise resilience in your practice and business.
    • In the third session, be inspired by creative and motivated thought leaders and workplace environments that you can use to improve your team’s productivity and success, and a cautionary tale of where things have gone wrong.
    • In the fourth session, regardless of whether you are new or seasoned professional, you will be stimulated by learning about modern tools of the trade, clarification on recent regulatory changes, and how emerging practices may be applied to your professional practice.
The 2020 Virtual Symposium offers CPD content at a reduced fee to make it affordable and accessible to many. Join us and register for the event early to enjoy an extra fee reduction. We hope to have you with us!

Yours truly,

Paul Hubley, P.Geo.
