Call for Volunteers: Symposium Planning Committee

Professional Geoscientists Ontario
 is seeking volunteers to serve on its Symposium Planning Committee. The Committee's mandate is to develop and deliver an annual symposium to PGO registrants, geoscientists in other jurisdictions, public, and other interested parties; identify emerging trends and best practices for PGO Registrants to enhance public protection; and provide Registrants an opportunity for Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The next annual PGO symposium is scheduled for April 2026.


Who Can Apply

PGO welcomes Registrants and GITs from diverse geoscience disciplines who demonstrate:

•  Strong interest in CPD programming and commitment to advancing professional practice.
•  Ability to secure speakers who are experts in their fields and whose topics align with the critical CPD needs of professional geoscientists, GITs, geoscience students and other stakeholders in the geosciences sector.
•  Strong awareness of EDI principles (Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) to ensure balanced and accessible symposium programming.

Commitment & How to Apply

Meetings will be held every two weeks for an hour beginning end of November until mid-December, 2025. Then once a month for an hour in January, February, March and April. Hours incurred by P.Geo.s count as CPD hours.
