The PGO Virtual Mentoring Program - Coming Soon!

We are excited to announce the upcoming launch of the PGO Virtual Mentoring Program. This initiative supports self-directed mentorship among PGO registrants in good standing, Geoscientists-in-Training (GITs), and student members. Participants may choose to be mentors, mentees, or both, depending on their interests, experience, and areas of expertise. The platform is designed to foster knowledge-sharing, professional connections, and career development at all stages of geoscience practice.

This is more than a platform. It’s a commitment to fostering learning, leadership, and public trust in a self-regulating profession.

As a self-regulating profession, our responsibility to protect the public depends on more than policy—it depends on people. Mentorship fosters competence, accountability, and trust across a diversity of backgrounds and career paths. It builds ethical awareness, strengthens professional standards, and supports individuals as they navigate complex decisions and grow into their roles.

Mentorship is not only personally meaningful—it helps sustain a profession that serves the public interest with integrity and accountability.

To participate, you must be a PGO registrant, GIT, or student member in good standing.

1. Register as a mentor or mentee through the secure portal
2. Complete your orientation – a short module introducing your role, expectations, and tools
3. Submit required forms, including:
