ABOUT THE SPEAKER


Caroline Metz, Managing Director of Economics and Resiliency, Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation 

Caroline is the Managing Director of Economics and Resiliency. Her focus is on developing guidance and mobilizing solutions that reduce physical climate risk from flooding, wildfire, and extreme heat, for homeowners, communities, and businesses across Canada. She also determines how adaptation to limit physical climate risk translates into economic impact in Canada.

Caroline has over 20 years of project leadership experience working with organizations in the public and private sectors in Canada and the United States, in the healthcare and environment arenas. She has held management consulting roles at ENVIRON (now Ramboll), PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Deloitte, and prior to joining the Intact Centre she led strategic planning and implementation of innovative healthcare programs at Sinai Health and Cancer Care Ontario. Caroline holds an MSc in Earth Sciences (hydrogeology) from the University of Waterloo, and an BSE in Civil-Geological Engineering from Princeton University. She is also a candidate for the Master of Environment and Business program at the University of Waterloo. Caroline is a member of Engineers Canada Public Affairs Advisory Committee and is Project Management Professional (PMP).
