ABOUT THE SPEAKER


Chris Collins, MBA, P.Geo., Chief Mining Advisor, British Columbia Securities Commission

Chris has been the Chief Mining Advisor at the British Columbia Securities Commission since April 2014. He leads a team focused on upholding the Canadian mining securities regulatory disclosure regime. Prior to the BCSC, he was in executive roles in two Toronto based junior exploration companies that were developing projects in Red Lake, Ontario, and in Bolivia and Chile. He started his career in the mining industry over 30 years ago with Noranda Mining in exploration and mine production roles in Atlantic Canada, and then onto international exploration and development projects in Brazil, Norway and Chile.

Chris is a Professional Geoscientist currently registered in both British Columbia and Newfoundland and Labrador. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and a Master of Business Administration from Saint Mary’s University, Halifax, Nova Scotia.
