PGO INSURANCE PROGRAM

Professional Geoscientists Ontario (PGO) strives to provide value-added services and offers for its registrants. In addition, through its membership with Geoscientists Canada and its affiliation with Engineers Canada, PGO offers a range of insurance programs at preferred rates to all its professional geoscientists. Note: Group benefits may not always be the best price due to seasonal or limited-time promotions.

PROFESSIONAL GEOSCIENCE STATUS
Some of the partner organizations may request proof of registration in good standing with PGO when redeeming the offers. In these situations, please use PGO's Public Register. You will be able to validate your status with the organization immediately as the register is updated in real-time.

TD Insurance Meloche Monnex Program is dedicated to helping Professional Geoscientists Ontario registrants get access to preferred insurance rates on car, home, condo and tenant coverage.

The following sponsored plans are available with Manulife: Term Life, Health & Dental, Disability Income, Critical Illness and Major Accident.

PDAC offers two programs to PGO licensees. The first program, the Consultants Package, is geared to the needs of corporations and individuals in the independent consulting business. The second, the Mining Package is designed for any and all Canadian mining companies, private or public, exploring or operating.

SECONDARY PROFESSIONAL LIABILITY INSURANCE (SPLI)
Secondary Professional Liability Insurance, provided through Engineers Canada and available to PGO licensees, is a unique program that protects registrants in good standing. The program ensures that you, your profession and the public stay protected in numerous cases involving professional services, including:

  • Whistleblowing: You "blow the whistle" on an employer due to illegal or unsafe practices and, as a result, face legal costs and/or professional repercussions.
  • Incidental professional consulting services: You consult informally with someone in your community, including friends and neighbours, and they bring a claim against you.
  • Worldwide: You are working in the United States and are found liable for work you've done.
  • See the full list on the Engineers Canada website.
