Andrew Smith,
North West Region Councillor
Andrew Smith is a Professional Geologist with a broad background in both mining and exploration geology. I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Earth Sciences from Memorial University of Newfoundland. My career began underground with Vale in Northern Manitoba, where I gained hands-on experience in production and resource development. I later transitioned to regional exploration and feasibility-stage work with Wyloo in Ontario’s Ring of Fire. My work has focused primarily on Ni-Cu-PGE systems, and I’ve been involved across the full mining lifecycle, from grassroots prospecting to advanced exploration, resource modeling, and mine planning.

David Leng, Councillor-at-Large 


David Leng, P.Geo. is President and CEO of RGCI. David is a professional geoscientist with more than 25 years of mining industry experience. David has held technical roles involving geochemical exploration, project evaluation and financing with several reporting issuers.  David holds an honours degree in Geology from McMaster University, is a professional geoscientist with the Professional Geoscientists of Ontario, and is also a member of the Association of Applied Geochemists. David has been a PGO volunteer since 2013, was elected to PGO council in 2015 to 2023 during which time he chaired the Governance Committee, remains an active participant in PGO’s mentoring program, regularly hosted PGO short courses, and attended many student outreach events.



Angela Mason, Councillor-at-Large 


Angela Mason is a Professional Geoscientist with 15 years of experience specializing in hydrogeological assessment within the land development sector. Based in Puslinch, Ontario, her diverse background spans both public and private sectors, including groundwater supply development, Permits to Take Water (PTTWs), Phase I/II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), wetland studies, and designated substance surveys. She holds a B.Sc. in Biological Science, an M.Sc. in Earth Science (Hydrogeology), and a post-graduate certificate in Environmental Engineering Applications. Angela is also dedicated to mentoring geoscience graduate students and contributing her hydrogeological expertise to the City of Guelph Environmental Advisory Committee.



John Hogg, Councillor-at-Large 


John Hogg earned his BSc in Geology from McMaster University and is a Professional Geologist registered in Ontario, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. He also holds a Certified Petroleum Geologist designation from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

John has served two terms as a Councilor with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta, and two terms as a Councilor of Geoscientists Canada. He has also held the positions of President of the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists and President of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

Throughout his career, John has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the President’s Award and Honorary Membership from the Canadian Society of Petroleum Geologists, as well as the Distinguished Service Award and Honorary Membership from the American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

John's career has been largely dedicated to exploring energy resources in the Canadian Arctic and Atlantic Canada. Over the past four decades, he has presented numerous technical papers on regional geology, basin tectonics, frontier exploration, and most recently, natural hydrogen exploration.

Kelly Bolduc-O’Hare, Non-registrant Public Appointee.


Paul Connor, who completed his term as Lieutenant Governor in Council Non-registrant Public Appointee and will now serve a one-year term as Non-registrant Public Appointee.


Michael Kuuskman, who served a three-year term as Councillor-at-Large and is now serving a three-year term as North East Regional Councillor.
