
PGO COUNCIL
Council governs the affairs and business of PGO. It is comprised of 20 people, including five non-registrant public appointees.
Council consists of:
President
Vice-President
Past-President
Two (2) professional geoscientists appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council
One (1) non-registrant appointed by the Lieutenant Governor in Council
Five (5) non-registrants appointed by PGO Council
Five (5) regional councillors consisting of elected professional geoscientists residing in each of the five regions
Four (4) councillors-at-large consisting of elected professional geoscientists residing anywhere in Ontario
There are five regions: northwestern, northeastern, southwestern, central and southeastern which are defined by postal codes (forward sortation numbers). Click on each link to view a map of each region and the postal codes included in that region.
Although the 2026 elections period has closed, expressions of interest can still be submitted for the council appointment roles described on the Council Interest page. Expression of Interest forms and supporting documents received at nominations@pgo.ca by June 30, 2026 will be considered for current vacancies.
