ear PGO Registrants,

As this year's Chair of the Past Presidents' Advisory Committee, I feel privileged to reach out to you for award nominations. This is an opportunity for you to identify individuals that support PGO's primary mandate of public service and protection of the public.

There are three (3) ways that individuals can be nominated:

Canadian Professional Geoscientist of the Year Award by Geoscientists Canada

The Canadian Professional Geoscientist of the Year Award is presented to one individual annually by Geoscientists Canada (GC). PGO will evaluate all complete nominations (see GC requirements for details) and will select one individual on the basis of outstanding public service, and submit the nomination to GC for evaluation on behalf of PGO. In the event that the nominee does not win, they will be reconsidered annually for two additional years, after which a new nomination will be required. PGO will accept nominations up to February 28, 2023 and anticipates the presentation by GC sometime in June 2023. LINK TO CRITERIA l DOWNLOAD NOMINATION FORM

Fellow of Geoscientists Canada (FGC)

The Fellow of Geoscientists Canada (FGC) and Honorary Fellow of Geoscientists Canada (Hon. FGC) are for both P.Geo. registrants and non-registrants respectively that meet GC's award criteria. PGO will accept nominations up to February 28, 2023 and will forward nominations to GC those of individuals that have contributed noteworthy public service in accordance with PGO's primary mandate. It is anticipated that the presentation by GC will be conducted sometime in June 2023. LINK TO CRITERIA l DOWNLOAD NOMINATION FORM

PGO Award of Merit

The Award of Merit, PGO's only direct award, has criteria that emphasize PGO's primary mandate of public service and protection of the public. The award annually recognizes a P.Geo. that has made significant contributions in their professional career. PGO will consider nominations until May 3, 2023, and will present the award at our Annual General Meeting in late June. LINK TO CRITERIA l DOWLOAD NOMINATION FORM

Your response is desired, as a robust response to this process strengthens PGO's ability to support our primary mandate.

Sincere thanks for your consideration.
