AGM Voting Instructions

As the AGM takes place virtually over Zoom, so will voting on all motions during the meeting. Only Ontario registered professional geoscientists (full practising, limited, non-practising and temporary) in good standing can vote at the AGM. Registrants with suspended registrations are not eligible to vote (per By-law No. 1A, Section 5.10).

Geoscientists-in-training (GITs), students, professional geoscientists registered in other jurisdictions and members of the public are asked to not participate in any voting during the meeting.

During the meeting, voting will take place through Zoom's survey tool. When a motion goes to a vote, a survey box will appear on screen and each eligible attendee may cast their vote using this survey box. Only one vote per attendee is permitted. In the event that an attendee is unsure if their vote was counted, we ask that they not attempt to vote again, and email info@pgo.ca immediately.

After voting for a motion has taken place, the meeting scrutineer will communicate the vote results to the meeting attendees. Voting records are not anonymous, as they would not be at in-person meetings, and will undergo a detailed review for accurate recordkeeping.

Questions, comments and requests for accessibility support can be sent to info@pgo.ca.
